IRQA for Products and Systems Engineering

Manage your complete RDM in one Solution

Are you lost in the complexity of your products and systems? Are you forced to deliver product variants which are subject to legal and regulatory approval?

Traditionally requirements management has been accomplished by many organizations using a document oriented approach based on either MS-Word, MS-Excel , or other word-processing tools which has proven to be challenging and time-consuming. Projects have become more and more complex, involving many stakeholders in a multi-disciplinary environment. Products and systems made up of electronic, mechanical, and software components must comply with specific regulatory standards. Producing quality requirements and maintaining traceability throughout the product development lifecycle from customer/market requirements through system design to verification and validation has become impossible and the risk of introducing critical errors and defects has increased.

Today, requirements are used throughout the development lifecycle and most other lifecycle activities are either based on requirement data or heavily influence the requirement baseline of a development project. Visure’s IRQA for Systems Engineering provides a robust support for requirements capture, viewing, versioning, baselining, as well as role based workflows in a distributed multi-user environment. Apart from requirements management IRQA for Systems Engineering facilitates also requirements analysis, system decomposition and requirements based testing, all through a visual, intuitive and configurable interface. The flexible architecture allows easy adaptation to any kind of development process. Furthermore, IRQA for Systems Engineering supports effective reuse of requirements across project teams and product lines and variants.

KUKA ROBOTS QUOTE

"At versatile products such as KUKA robots, there are many demands from different sources, eg. externally from customers, in the areas of industrial manufacturing and medical technology, laws, standards and guidelines, and internal demands that respect the development of such strategies and risk analysis, "says Mr. Kolb. "This diversity requires a systematic review and bundling of technical requirements for the product as well as the processes involved. IRQA is a powerful tool that supports this."

IRQA for Systems Engineering

IRQA for Systems Engineering delivers the following features and benefits:

  • Graphical representation of requirements flow down to subsystems, components and functional decomposition to establish a common understanding and enforce any requirements process and system. With templates available for CMMI, SPICE, Agile development, Pharmaceutical GAMP5, Aircraft Systems ARP4754/ED–79 (DO-178B/C), Automotive IEC61508 (ISO26262), and Medical Devices IEC60601(IEC62304), requirements solutions can be rapidly created to reduce the learning curve and get a jump start on eliciting and managing requirements. Diagramming features including use cases and system context diagram are built into IRQA to support requirements definition and analysis. Users can also define role based workflows visually.
  • Flexible import/export and roundtrip support for Word, Excel, DOORS, and other external tools directly or via XML/XMI or the future ReqIF Standards. Users can import to get a jump start from existing requirements. Export to create specification documents or to share requirements with suppliers/contractors.
  • Integration platform and plug-in SDK based on standard programming languages to create customized requirements solutions, to extend IRQA or automate tasks, as well as integrate IRQA with proprietary and commercial tools, including ALM and PLM.
  • Risk Management to support FMEA/FMECA. Integrates risk elements directly in the requirements solution facilitating traceability, impact analysis, and reporting
  • Support for Model-Based Development through integrations with UML/SysML tools and Matlab/Simulink allowing linking requirements with system, and design models.
  • Requirements Based Testing to support verification and validation. Create test plans, test cases, and details regarding test environment right in IRQA. Also capture and view test results along with requirements to support traceability from customer/product requirements, system design, software, tests, and issues/defects all within a single system.
  • Flexible Views for requirement and traceability. Create user-defined views for requirements and traceability as traditional documents, hierarchy, or lists. Views can be saved and shared between users and standardized to support specific requirements processes.
  • Product lines and variants support through effective requirements, use cases and test cases reuse.
  • Web access using IRQAWeb allows distributed requirements capture, analysis, and management using standard web browser.
  • Powerful Reporting using the IRQA Report Manager to create project dashboards and compliance documents.

VISURE SOLUTIONS AUF SWISS REQUIREMENTS DAY 2012
May-22 2012 - 09.06

München, 21. Mai 2011 – Auch in diesem Jahr wird Visure Solutions seine Lösungen für professionelles Anforderungsmanagement auf dem Swiss Requirements Day (20. Juni 2012 in Zürich) vorstellen.
